We just love Giddings which is only nine miles up the road. It's a nice little town, too. And they've
got a Walmart.
|
There are great places to eat in Giddings. Check out Reba's for pizza and subs. Don't pass on the Donuts and Seafood place, either. For fine dining, you
can go to JW's in Carmine or Royer's in Round Top.
|
They lay claim to
being the smallest incorporated town in Texas, but whether it's true or not, Round Top is
a great little town to visit. Check out Royer's for another local fine dining
experience (and PIES that can't be beat).

For great live
music, we always like to see who's playing at The Bugle Boy in La Grange.
It's 20 minutes up the road (south on 1291, right at the stop sign, left on 77 towards La Grange, cross the 71 bypass, quarter
mile on the right). It's a listening room, so get your talking done before you sit down. And don't bring little
ones. They give unattended kids an espresso and a free puppy.

For those of you
inclined to star gazing, try www.heavens-above.com and enter "Diamond
R" under "registered user login" and the password is "stars". You can find out what and where
the constellations will be (even the ISS and other cool stuff are visible). Try it!
